Family Law

Family law disputes can be resolved in a variety of ways:

1. Court Intervention

When couples are unable to reach an agreement, one or both of them may take the disputed matter through the court system and have a Judge determine the outcome. Most family law disputes are resolved this way.

My role is to advocate for my client to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure their goals are achieved. I counsel my clients on their options and possible outcomes so they can make decisions in an informed manner.

2. Mediation

Most couples cannot financially afford to go through a divorce. Most divorces are unnecessarily litigious and expensive. As an attorney, I represent my clients efficiently and cost-effectively. I do not believe in unnecessarily delaying cases. My goal is always to resolve cases as economically and quickly as possible. One way to do this is through Mediation.

Mediation is a less costly and less stressful way to resolve disputes between couples. Mediation empowers the parties involved with the ability to decide the outcome of their disputes rather than leaving it up to a Judge to decide. My approach as a Mediator is to provide a comfortable and judgment-free environment for participants, so I can assist them in resolving their differences respectfully.

3. Collaborative Approach

The collaborative process involves the parties agreeing to resolve their disputes, before going to court.  Instead, with the assistance of their respective lawyers, they work towards reaching an agreement on all the issues and only go to court to finalize the full settlement.

Collaborative law is a cost-effective way to resolve disputes, as it lowers the cost of litigation and eliminates frequent court appearances. Instead, the parties are empowered to resolve their disputes outside the courtroom.
